Michigan Works!

Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth

Provides a variety of support for Goodwill of SWMI including primary funding for the Workforce development programs that we administer serving people who are enrolled in Work First, Non-Custodial Parent, Non-Cash Recipient and Food Assistance programs.

Special Project - Goodwill of Southwestern Michigan has donated interview appropriate clothing to the Michigan Works Program & International Association of Administrative Professionals Program (IAAP) in the "Closet to Success" campaign. Suits are distributed to job seekers in need of appropriate interview clothing.

Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

The mission of CARF is to help community rehabilitation providers promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the person served. The Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities has accredited the following Goodwill Employment Services: Job Placement, Occupational Skill Training, Vocational Evaluation, Work Adjustment and Work Services.

Kalamazoo Community Foundation

Kalamazoo Community Foundation is a long term and generous supporter of Goodwill of SWMI. KCF has recently provided funding for our housing program Making It Work and our Literacy Together service.

Airlink PCS

In private partnership with Airlink & Message Express Internet Service Provider, Goodwill Industries of SW Michigan is able to provide an internet service called Goodlink. Goodlink is a program offered to the community to provide internet access at a reduced rate. Goodlink is just one step in reducing the digital divide between those with access to technology and those without.

Goodlink is available for purchase - a bargain at $75 per year - either online, or at any of the Goodwill of SW Michigan retail stores. Proceeds from the Goodlink Program will go toward our education, training and employment programs.

Housing Resources, Inc.

A collaborative partner with Goodwill of SWMI assisting our participants who are socially or economically vulnerable with housing services. HRI is a primary partner and funder in our Making It Work homeless prevention and employment retention program.

Kalamazoo County Department of Human Services

The Department of Human Services is a primary partner in many of our Workforce Development programs, providing financial assistance and social services to eligible participants. Additionally, DHS has been a supporter of Goodwill's housing stabilization and transportation projects.

Greater Kalamazoo United Way

Goodwill of SWMI has a long standing relationship as a United Way Agency. The mission of the Greater Kalamazoo United Way is to increase the organized capacity of people in Kalamazoo County to care for one another. GKUW provides funding to assist Goodwill in the delivery of Vocational Rehabilitation services. Additionally, GKUW has funded via their Cabinet Funding process many special projects to assist local residents in job search, housing, self-sufficiency activities and provision of basic need items.
