Place: Climb Kalamazoo, on the
Downtown Kalamazoo Mall

Purpose: The Adventure Centre Climb for Youth serves as a community building event to help schools raise money for Adventure Centre programming and empower groups that would otherwise not be able to participate in these valuable learning experiences. It also serves to educate the public on what The Adventure Centre is, why it exists and the value it has brought to thousands of youth and adults in our community.

• On Saturday, March 21, 2009 between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm, teams and individuals will compete to climb the most vertical feet and raise the most money for Adventure Centre programs by climbing continuously the vertical rock walls at Climb Kalamazoo.
• Teams and individuals representing schools and organizations will gather pledge donations in order to participate in the event.
• Schools can offset the cost of their 2009 programming at the Adventure Centre by every dollar that they raise in pledges.
• Climb For Youth Sponsorship money is used to support the overall mission of The Adventure Centre and its programs.

Many teachers and administrators have pointed to the direct value of our programming in helping students to function better socially and academically. Program Directors in non-profits and student-leadership organizations have pointed to the increased leadership, vision and effectiveness of their teams resulting from our programs.

The Adventure Centre will credit each school and non-profit that participates the full amount of funds raised toward their Adventure Centre programming for the 2009 calendar year.
